This coaching workshop is designed to create space for women of color to develop skills to navigate the educational system while focusing on career advancement.  Engaging in difficult conversations can be challenging when there is fear of recourse. This workshop provides the brave space to share the challenges along with providing valuable tools to navigate these conversations.

Shireka King Gentry is a Licensed Therapist, Certified Executive/Leadership Coach, and a HR professional. She is passionate about supporting senior leaders and high potential talent to strengthen their leadership skills, support them through important transition journeys, and leadership challenges.  When interacting with others, her desire is for them to be seen and heard. One of her favorite quotes is by Dr Maya Angelou: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”.

She received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from UNC Charlotte in 2010.  After graduation, she attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and received her Masters of Arts degree in Counseling in 2014. Shireka obtained her HR professional certification from the Society of Human Resources Management in 2023 and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Liberty University.

She is a proud member of both Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Jack and Jill of America, Inc.

Shireka is  blessed to be married to her high school sweetheart, Michael Gentry for 14 years and they have three beautiful children.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading and journaling.

Michelle Bostian is a seasoned executive coach and consultant known for her inviting demeanor and impactful leadership. With a career spanning over 25 years, she has cultivated expertise in designing and implementing tailored leadership programs, steering change management initiatives, fostering team alignment, and crafting visionary plans for organizational effectiveness. Michelle’s work is anchored in unlocking the inherent potential within leaders and teams, empowering them to capitalize on their strengths, unearth their purpose, and attain success.

Michelle’s entire career has focused on improving the lives of people and the systems they are a part of. As a psychotherapist, corporate leader, trainer, facilitator, and executive coach, Michelle has leveraged her abilities to provide challenge, support, and guidance to managers and leaders in diverse organizations for the past 25 years. She understands the complexities of differing roles across multiple industries, including manufacturing, technology, finance, education, and healthcare. Prior to her work as a coach, coach trainer, and leadership development consultant, Michelle had a successful career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and educator. Beyond her corporate engagements, Michelle is a founding member of the national non-profit organization Heart of Character.

As a Board-Certified Coach (BCC) and a Professional Certified Coach accredited by the International Coach Federation (PCC), Michelle holds additional credentials as a Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP). Her proficiency extends to being a coach trained by the Center for Creative Leadership, as well as professional training in Restorative Practices and as a coach through the National School Reform Faculty. Michelle is also certified in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and recognized as a Certified Confidence Coach. Finally, she created the Culture of Feedback Survey for use in organizations and is adept in a variety of learning tools and psychometric assessments, including Facet5, Workplace Big 5, DiSC, and several 360 tools.
