9:00 AM - 10:00 AM KEYNOTE: One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish…Oh Look, a Squirrel! How to help children with attention issues | Peggy Campbell-Rush Our classrooms are filled with children who are excited to be in school and yet some are overly excited and cannot seem to focus on the learning taking place. This workshop gives you ideas and strategies to help children who you think might have ADD, ADHD and attention issues. These children are ready and eager to learn and you can provide ways to help them calm down, pay attention and feel less stress in the classroom.
10:00 AM - 10:15 AM Break
10:15 AM - 11:15 AM Listen UP! How to help students pay attention and learn | Peggy Campbell-Rush This workshop will focus on FOCUS. What does it mean to listen the first time, how can we help memory and get students to emotionally regulate. Why is Mr. Rogers so important in our teaching? Learn what the brain likes best for maximum learning like schedules, eye focus, movement, and meta cognition. You will leave this session with usable ideas to implement in your classroom tomorrow.
11:15 AM - 12:15 PM Roundtables
12:15 PM - 1:15 PM Lunch
1:30 PM - 2:30 PM Learning Readiness: How to Get the Most Out of Every Student | Heidi Tringali The pandemic has created a different type of student and a different type of learner who can pose challenges in the classroom environment and to our grade level curriculum. Heidi will discuss what these challenges look like, strategies to mitigate these issues, and how to get your students performing to their fullest potential.
2:30 PM - 3:30 PM Partnering With Specials and Utilizing Their Insights to Better Understand the Whole Child | Heidi Tringali Sometimes Specials work in isolation from the rest of the academic curriculum. Heidi will talk about the importance of the special's insights in better understanding the whole picture of the child, the power of linking the two curricula, and simple ways to develop a richer relationship between the specials curriculum and the academic curriculum.
