Event Details

As education has become more reliant on technology, we have seen a spike in cyber attacks on schools:

  • Schools are actively targeted by malicious agents, targeting staff, student and parents data - 2023 saw a 105% increase in ransomware attacks within the US K-12 Sector and this only looks to increase.
  • Microsoft Security Intelligence reports that 62% of the reported 5.8 million malware cases came from the education sector. Teachers downloading free resources have unwittingly opened the school's entire network to potential hackers.

Cybersecurity is no longer an option but a critical component of a school's safety and resilience. A strong cybersecurity posture equips school IT teams and leadership with the insights and tools they need to anticipate, identify, and address the vulnerabilities that put schools at risk.

To support NCAIS member schools, we have invited 9ine, specialists in cybersecurity, to deliver a session that will provide a detailed examination of the current cyber risks that threaten educational environments and offer strategies to enhance your school’s cybersecurity posture.

Using 9ine's 11-point Cyber Risk Assessment, available at no cost for NCAIS members, you will learn how to identify, assess, and address cyber risks in a structured and proactive manner. We recommend exploring the assessment tool before the webinar to make the session more impactful.

Key Takeaways from Attending:

  • Understanding Cybersecurity’s Importance: Explore how a strong cybersecurity strategy plays a vital role in school governance, helping protect against digital threats and enhance overall resilience.
  • Navigating Cyber Threats: Gain insights into prevalent cyber risks affecting schools, including data breaches, phishing, and ransomware, and understand their potential impact on your school.
  • Using the Assessment Tool: Learn how to effectively use the 11-point Cyber Risk Assessment to identify and manage cyber risks proactively.
  • Practical Strategies: Discover practical steps and strategies to improve your school’s cybersecurity measures, ensuring a safer digital environment for both students and staff.
  • A Whole School Approach to Cyber and Data Security: Not just the IT Department’s remit, discussing how the whole school community plays a pivotal role in safety and security.

This webinar is more than just a learning opportunity; it's a chance to transform your school’s approach to cybersecurity.
