Who are we?

NCAIS is rooted in celebrating the diversity, connection, and strength of our independent school community. Our mission is to unite and support a network of 90+ unique schools across North Carolina (with two out-of-state members, one in SC and one in GA), fostering collaboration, innovation, and growth.

We believe that our community thrives not because of sameness but because of our shared commitment to education, values, and the success of every student. Whether faith-based or secular, boarding or day, single-gender or co-ed, each school brings its unique strengths to the table, creating a rich tapestry of perspectives and experiences.

Guided by the principle that we are #BetterTogether, NCAIS serves as a hub for resources, advocacy, professional development, and connection, empowering our member schools to illuminate a brighter path for students, educators, and communities alike.
